Amnesty Offered For Returning Stolen Ridgewood Street Signs

Anyone who has signs that belong to the Village of Ridgewood may turn them in to the police, no questions asked, until Sept. 15.

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- The Ridgewood Police Department is accepting returned street signs until Sept. 15.

So far, 20 signs have been returned under an amnesty Ridgewood is offering. Any stolen signs may be turned in to the department at 131 N. Maple Ave., no questions asked.

After Sept. 15, anyone found in possession of village property will be charged with theft and prosecuted.

The department thanks those who have turned in signs already.
