Lead poisoning, rabies control, dog bites and kids or pets left in hot cars all deserve attention, says Cetrulo, the village's Division of Health supervisor and registrar of vital statistics.
For instance, no fewer than 50 dog bites are reported in the village each year.
"Most people don't realize you can't just walk up to a dog on the street and reach your hand out to them," Cetrulo said.
Cetrulo also urges people to take the time to consider the physical effects on a child or animal locked in a hot car.
Cetrulo has lived most of her life in Passaic County and has worked in Bergen County the past two decades -- 17 years with the village's Division of Health.
She is a current member and previous vice president of the Bergen County Health Officers Association and a member of both the New Jersey Registrars Association and the Bergen/Passaic Registrars Association.
"I chose to work here because of the great center of town," Cetrulo said, "and I have chosen to stay for many reasons -- including the local business owners and their sense of community with each other, including with the local health department."
