Valley, which became affiliated with Cleveland Clinic Heart & Vascular Institute in 2015, is one of only 352 hospitals in the United States to qualify for this evidence-based designation.

“Because there are differences in the signs and symptoms of heart disease in women compared to men, it is important to have specialists experienced in the treatment of female patients. This recognition is a testament to the priority that Valley’s Heart Care for Women program places on making sure a woman’s needs are met when it comes to heart care," Meyers said.
The Women’s Choice Award is based on robust criteria that consider patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women really want when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience.
To qualify for the 2016 America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care list, hospitals must offer a minimum number of cardiac and/or vascular services, perform well clinically with regard to heart care measures reported to Medicare, and also have a high Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) recommendation score.
