Justin Bierdumpfel, 15, wrestled five matches in the tournament in Fargo, N.D.

His weight class -- 94 pounds -- had 46 youngsters, Don Bosco Prep wrestling coach Austin Wall said.

"Fargo is one of the hardest competitions in the country," Wall added. "For Justin to take second place is a true testament to his work ethic and passion. He has a very bright future and the next four years will be a very exciting journey for him and his family."

Wall, Matt Ciempa, Bobby Shearer and older brother Kyle – an NJSIAA state champion – coached Bierdumpfel.

Bierdumpfel is a 2016 Northeast Regional champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman.
