RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- A fourth suspect in the robbery and kidnapping of a New Jersey cab driver has been arrested in Suffern, N.Y., police said.
Juan Chileseo-Vega, 19, who had been wanted in the Ridgewood case, was grabbed by local police, the FBI, and members of the Rockland County SWAT team at a residence Thursday, authorities said.
Already arrested in the case were Guillermo Carrillo-Iraheta, 18, a Suffern resident who was captured in Mahwah; Jostin Vidal Reyes, 20, of Waldwick, and Wilbur J. Barhona, 20, of Ridgewood.
Chileseo-Vega, as were the other three, has been charged with kidnapping, carjacking, armed robbery, aggravated assault and weapons possession, police said.
Police said the suspects hailed a cab in Paterson, in late December for a ride to Waldwick in Bergen County.
However, police told the Daily Voice, once they got to Ridgewood, they ordered the cab driver to pull over, kidnapped him at gunpoint and drove him to the New York State Thruway, where they pistol-whipped him, stabbed him in the neck and dumped him by the side of the road near Tuxedo in Orange County.
The cab driver is recovering from his injuries, according to media reports.
Suffern police said they believe Chileseo-Vega was a member of the “18th Street” Central American street gang.
