The 30 officers raised a total of $3,100 this year.

The barbershop matched funds raised in October and donated all of the proceeds from Sunday's shave-off to Bergen County-based nonprofit Mayday Missions.

The organization -- which helps families of law enforcement, EMS or firefighters in need -- was presented with a $1,600 check Sunday. The rest of the money will go toward the No-Shave November campaign.

No-Shave November's worldwide mission the past seven years is to not only raise funds for cancer research and treatment but to emphasize preventative measures.

"It makes us feel great when we can bring smiles to people through events like this," Ridgewood PBA President Anthony Mormino told Daily Voice.

"We see a lot of terrible stuff on-duty, so when we're off-duty, we like doing stuff like this."

And it doesn't stop there.

The Ridgewood PBA is in its second year with the Bergen County PBA Toy Drive, and separately is helping a local family in need to help offset the costs of holiday gifts.

Officers thanked the department for allowing them to participate in another year of No-Shave November.
