YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 10-year-old Ridgewood boy’s mother summoned police today after her son came home with a round of buckshot that he said he found while walking to school this morning.
Ridgewood Officer Patrick Elwood went to their Oxford Court home, recovered the round and spoke with the boy, who said he found it on the 400 block of nearby Bogert Avenue.
The home’s owner moved away over the weekend and it is believed the ammunition may have fallen out of a packing box or carton.
The incident remains under investigation.
