YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A small dump truck owned by the Ridgewood Board of Education crashed into a utility pole on Godwin Avenue early this afternoon.

Police were trying to determine what happened.

The driver was uninjured, while the utility pole had to be replaced.

Godwin Avenue between Doremus and Ackerman avenues remained closed into mid-afternoon while that work was being done.

No loss of any utility service was reported in the area.

A heavy-duty wrecker removed the dump truck from the scene.

Ridgewood police, firefighters and emergency services units responded.
