Officers stopped the black Dodge SUV near the upper level toll plaza after the driver made the illegal turn from the Fort Lee exit from the bridge back onto the I-95 ramp, the Port Authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.

The vehicle "had an obstructed license plate obscured by a smoked out plastic plate cover," he said.

Officers immediately spotted the loaded Glock 19 in the driver's waistband, Pentangelo said, adding that she was also wearing a police shield.

A further search turned up 14 rounds of hollow-point ammunition, he said.

The driver -- 43-year-old Dorenda M. Wicker of Philadelphia -- also was carrying a gravity knife in her left front pocket, Pentangelo said.

The officers arreted her on a variety of charges, including weapons possession and impersonating a public servant, he said, adding that she also received several summonses.
