Police: Ridgewood Biker Had Burglary Tools In Backpack

  • Fair Lawn Officer Tiller Uriarte stopped Erik Anderson, 38, of Ridgewood while riding his bike on Thursday, July 20. Authorities found him in possession of prescription drugs that did not belong to him as well as a backpack containing burglary tools, officials said.  Anderson had outstanding warrants from Bergen County and Hasbrouck Heights. He was charged with possession of prescription drugs and possession of burglary tools, then sent to Bergen County Jail, Fair Lawn Police said. 
  • A Rochelle Park woman was arrested on Monday, July 24 after Fair Lawn police found her fraudulently using a Fair Lawn resident's credit card in surveillance footage. Jessica Covino, 27, was released after being charged with fraud and identity theft. 
  • Officer Geovanny Buitron found marijuana in car he pulled over on Route 208 south at Plaza Road on Tuesday, July 25. The driver, Carlos Daniels, 37, of Port Chester, N.Y., charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to maintain a single lane.
  • Officer Buitron detained a Paterson man walking on Fair Lawn

    Avenue at 20th Street on Wednesday, July 26. Luis Rosario, 48, was charged with controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles.

  • Officer Nicholas Snyder pulled a car over on Wednesday, July 26 at Berdan Avenue and Plaza Road and arrested the operator, Kyle Johnson,19, of Port Jervis, N.Y., and the passenger, Ryan Walsh, 21, of Chester, N.Y., after marijuana and an air rifle were located inside the vehicle. Johnson was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Walsh was released after being charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, police said. 

  • Officer Robert Belbol and Sgt. Anthony Ferreira and arrested Philip Mattera, 62, of Hackensack, at Shoprite on Thursday, July 27 after he was detained by store loss prevention with $323.51 in unpaid items in a basket. He was released after being charged with shoplifting, police said. 

  • A New York City Man attempted to fraudulently withdraw money at the Chase Bank on Fair Lawn Avenue on Friday, July 28. Clifton Gregory, 66, was located in a nearby parking lot with a fraudulent Ohio driver’s license and credit card in the name of the account holder. Arrest warrants were located out of Delaware County, Pa. and Lodi. He was charged with attempted theft by deception, two counts of false government documents and fraudulent use of a credit card, then sent to Bergen County Jail, police said.
