RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Police and Bergen County Sheriff's officers armed with assault rifles closed Leonard Street to surround a Ridgewood home Saturday afternoon.
UPDATE (6/30/2017): A report from a man who said he felt threatened after seeing a gun at a Ridgewood home brought police to a quiet village street last weekend, Chief Jacqueline Luthcke told Daily Voice on Friday.
A police officer armed with an assault rifle and another holding a handgun were photographed outside the Leonard Street home on Saturday.
A Bergen County law enforcement source told Daily Voice at the time that the incident didn't rise to a level that required mobilizing a regional SWAT team.
Both a local and county police source said the incident "wasn't serious."
