Fraudster Contractor Arrested In Bucks County, Authorities Say A fraudster has been arrested in Bucks County after police said he scammed a client out of money. Walter Charles Porter Jr. accepted a payment for hardscape work in April 2021 under "Walts Outdoor Living Spaces," Bedminster police said. As of April 2024, Porter never completed the work, nor did he provide, materials or a refund to the victims when asked multiple times over the years, police said. Porter was charged with home improvement fraud, deceptive business practices, theft, and receiving stolen property. He was arraigned with bail set at $100,000 and is barred from having any contact…

Thief Steals Minivan With 11-Year-Old Girl Inside In Philadelphia, Police Say An 11-year-old girl was inside of her family minivan when a car thief stole it in Philadelphia, police said. A 24-year-old man took the blue Honda Odyssey with the girl inside at 2600 N 16th St., around 1:35 p.m. Saturday, June 1, police said. The girl and the vehicle were safely recovered at 3200 Randolph Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries to the girl. Police said further details were expected to be released.

Motorcyclist Killed In Overnight Franklin Township Crash, Police Say A motorcyclist was killed in a late-night crash in Somerset County, police said. Police responding to reports of a crash on Easton Avenue near DeMott Lane in Franklin Township found a crashed motorcycle around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, June 1, Franklin Township Police Lt. Vincent T. Wilson said. The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. at the scene. Police did not release an identity. A section of the roadway was closed for three hours. Former Newark Officer Sentenced To State Prison In Shooting Death During Pursuit A former Newark police officer who shot and killed a driver during a pursuit and critically injured his passenger was sentenced to 27 years in New Jersey State Prison. Jovanny Crespo, 30, must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he's eligible for parole. Essex County Superior Court Judge Michael L. Ravin Jr. imposed the sentence under the No Early Release Act. Man Found Dead On Apartment Floor In Bailey's Crossroads Still Not ID'd, Police Say Police in Fairfax County are seeking the public's help identifying a man who was found dead in the area last month. Drugs, Ammo, Stolen Gun Found On Man Who Fired Shots In Woodbridge Street Argument, Cops Say A 24-year-old man has been arrested after police say he fired a gun in an area roadway during an argument in which Good Samaritans had stopped to help. Sterling Man Arrested In Triple Leesburg Shooting, Police Say A 19-year-old man has been arrested in a shooting that left three people wounded in Loudoun County, authorities said. Sylvanus Massaquoi is believed to have shot the three males on the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE in Leesburg around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, May 30, police said.
