RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Mary Nell Cooper, of Ridgewood, died Aug 7. She was born Aug 3, 1928.
She graduated from Stetson University in Deland, Fla. with a BA degree in education and taught elementary school in Florida and Massachusetts.
She was active in Phi Mu Sorority and its alumni association. Cooper was a member of the Women’s Guild of the Old Paramus Reformed Church, the Ridgewood College Club and a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon N. of Ridgewood; children, John R. of Hackensack and Elizabeth A. Scannell of Clinton; grandchild, David F. Scannell; sister, Carolyn Cottrell and Vaughn Walker; and niece, Susan Cottrell.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Old Paramus Reformed Church, 660 E. Glen Ave., Ridgewood.
