Mary Elizabeth 'Biz' Eaton, 80, of Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Mary Elizabeth "Biz" Eaton, of Ridgewood, died on Monday, Jan. 2. She was 80.

A 1954 Ridgewood High alumna, Eaton had been a member of its cheerleading squad. She graduated from Skidmore College with a BS in Nursing. She was the practice manager at Respiratory Health & Critical Care Association in Midland Park. She later became the coordinator for Dr. Marc Melamed, chief medical officer for Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Eaton was a former member of the Ridgewood Country Club and the first elected woman president of the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club, in the late 1970s. 

She is survived by her husband, Walter; children Stephanie Niemchak, David Eaton, Barbara Corcoran and Richard Eaton; grandchildren Michael, Elizabeth, Hunter, Grace, Ava, Brody, Max and Chelsea; and siblings John, Barbara and Stephanie Sakosits. 

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in Ridgewood, followed by a reception at the church. C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, in Ridgewood, is assisting with arrangements.
