Ridgewood Detours In Place For PSE&G Project

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- PSE&G's large detour will remain in place until at least this Friday, the village said, as the utility continues its gas-infrastructure upgrade project in Ridgewood and the region.

Friday or Monday, workers will move work to East Glen Avenue. For a period of two weeks or so, the work will be between Fairfield Road and Maple Avenue, starting at the former and working toward the latter. While work is being done on East Glen, West Glen will be open.

When workers get to the firehouse driveway, they'll try to get work in front of the firehouse, water and recycling yard done in a single day -- and there may be little or no access to those driveways.

After completing work on East Glen Avenue, work will move to West Glen, using the large detour for approximately 5-7 work days. The project will continue west, to Monroe Street.

"These upgrades are part of our three-year program to replace up to 510 miles of aging gas infrastructure throughout New Jersey," PSE&G has noted. "The new pipes will improve reliability, reduce the possibility of methane leaks, and enable the installation of excess flow valves on service lines"
