Citizens for a Better Ridgewood filed the legal action Aug. 10 in Superior Court, calling the Planning Board’s action “arbitrary, capricious and unreasonable,” NorthJersey.com said.
The suit also alleges conflicts of interest on the part of David Thurston, a real estate broker, and Deputy Mayor Albert Pucciarelli. Thurston, it said, is a real estate broker who may have a “pecuniary interest” in increasing the value of commercial properties in the village, and he “may have professional relationships with other property owners located elsewhere in Ridgewood,” NorthJersey.com said.
Present zoning allows 12 units per acre on the affected parcels.
