Arrest In Ridgewood False Alarms

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Village police arrested a Paterson man on charges of sounding false alarms.

Nycheem P. Gatling, 20, was found in the area  where two false fire alarms were set off in a short period of time on July 30, village police said..

The first alarm came into North West Central Bergen Dispatch from Lenox and Ackerman avenues.

Police said they responded but there was no fire.

Shortly after, another alarm came in from Melrose and Godwin avenues, but this time Officer Jeffrey Kay found Gatling in the area and arrested him on two counts of causing a false public alarm, police said..

He was released on a court summons.
