In a video posted Tuesday on YouTube Tuesday, Julia and other students at Ridgewood High School dance in the hallway to "Worth It" by Fifth Harmony, then Julia makes her direct appeal, telling Degeneres, "I love to dance in my wheelchair during my wheelchair dance classes. But this dancer needs a new set of wheels. I would love to dance with you on your show because baby I'm worth it."

Earlier in the video, Julia's mother explains how her daughter received the cancer diagnosis in 2007.

She had complained to her parents of backaches after playing tennis, which led to doctors and other specialists, and discovery of a "massive tumor" on her daughter's spine, she said.

"Doctors told us the cancer was so rare it had not been identified."
