The Valley Hospital Earns an ‘A’ for Patient Safety

RIDGEWOOD, NJ, -- For the eighth time, The Valley Hospital has been recognized for its dedication to patient safety by being awarded an ‘A’ grade in the Spring 2016 Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from preventable medical errors, injuries and infections within the hospital.

Valley was one of 798 hospitals to receive an A, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States. More than 2,500 hospitals nationwide received Hospital Safety Scores of A, B, C, D, or F based on how well they protect patients accidents, errors, injuries and infections. For the first time, the Hospital Safety Score includes five measures of patient-reported experience with the hospital as well as two of the most common infections, C.diff and MRSA. The Hospital Safety Score report was released today by The Leapfrog Group, an independent, national not-for-profit organization of employer purchasers of health care.
