RIDGEWOOD, N.J. – Linda Moran has been watching the same deer grow from a young animal with just a trace of antlers to a nearly full-grown buck patrolling Ridgewood's Twinney's Pond.
At 6:40 a.m. during her morning walk Thursday, Moran happened upon the deer, who didn't seem disturbed by her presence. She snapped this photo using her Android phone.
"The buck was standing in the dried up pond, and as I stood there longer, he came closer and closer to me," she said. "We've been watching this buck grow since spring, when his stubby antlers didn't reach beyond his ears. Twinney's Pond seems to be his home."
