RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Registration for the winter self defense classes for kids and teens is Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Community Center at Ridgewood Village Hall.

KidSafe is an on going program that promotes self defense, self esteem, self discipline and safety awareness for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 15. The program offers fun, fitness and enhanced coordination to elementary and junior high students while covering a wide range of safety topics.

Classes for boys and girls, ages 5 through 15, will be held on Tuesdays for a 10 week session beginning Jan. 26, at the Community Center. Classes run as follows,

  • New students - 5 to 5:40 p.m.
  • Returning students and new students - 5:50 to 6:30 p.m.
  • All colored belts - 6:40 to 7:20 p.m.

Class fees are $100 for the 10 week semester. Uniforms are highly recommended and are available for purchase throughout the course for an additional $30.
