New this year is a special Reading Marathon kick-off event for middle school students that will be held on Sunday, Jan. 31 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The“Edible Book Festival” invites students select a book and bake a cake that interprets their book selection.

The Reading Marathon kick-off event for preschool and elementary students will be held on Monday, Feb. 1 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature “Up, Up and Away”, a fun and interactive session with Mad Science.

A musical event with “UniBeat Drum Circle” is planned for Wednesday, March 2 from 4p.m. to 5 p.m. as well.

Finally, the preschool awards ceremony will be held on Friday, April 8 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Ice cream cakes donated by Ben & Jerry’s will be served at the closing event and Preschool ceremony.

This year, all preschool students who read 9 or more books will earn a Gold Medal.
