RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — It takes more than a drop in temperature to freeze ice cream sales at Ben & Jerry's pink little ice cream shop in Ridgewood, Store Manager Michelle Tavares said.
“It’s definitely slower but it doesn’t slow down to a halt by any means,” she said. "It was packed in here last weekend."
On the walls inside the Franklin Avenue store hang paintings of B&J's signature cows. The sweet smell of cold treats being churned wafts out the front door.
Pumpkin cheesecake ice cream milkshakes have enjoyed their fall turn as hot chocolates and shakes make their fall debuts.
“We’re fortunate because we do fundraisers and benefit nights for schools,” Tavares said while scooping a a cup of “The Tonight Dough With Jimmy Fallon.”
Fallon donates all proceeds from his flavor — chocolate, caramel ice cream with chocolate cookie swirls, chocolate cookie dough and peanut butter cookie dough — to the SeriousFun Children’s network, a nonprofit organization for children and families impacted by life-threatening illnesses.
