Oakland Rescue Cares For Abused Dog, Newborn Puppies

OAKLAND, N.J. — Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge is asking for the public's help in funding the vet bills for an emaciated dog who was found pregnant with a would on her that had been stapled shut with a staple gun.

"When Everley arrived at the local shelter, staff worried that the birth was eminent, and Everley was in no shape to go through it alone," RBARI said. 

"They reached out to local rescues – as soon as we heard, we knew we had to help. Before Everley could be moved, she gave birth to 8 beautiful babies. 

"Everley is an amazingly strong mother – even with her own health failing she still anxiously tried to care for her 8 babies, but unfortunately, she was so undernourished that she couldn’t produce mike or nurse her babies, as much as she tried."

Everley and her babies are currently at Pets Aloud Veterinary Hospital in Mahwah, and RBARI is seeking donations to help cover the funding.
