RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — The community will gather with family and friends for the annual Menorah Lighting on Sunday evening at Memorial Park in Ridgewood.
First launched in 2013 at the urging of residents, this year’s Menorah Lighting starts at 5:30 p.m., which is the start of Hanukkah, traditionally beginning at sunset. Hanukkah ends Monday, Dec. 14.
Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days, and occurs at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar. It is also known as the Festival of Lights and the Feast of Dedication.
In attendance at the lighting will be local rabbis and cantors of Temple Israel, Temple Beth Rishon, Barnert Temple and Temple Beth Or.
