RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Veteran Broadway couple J. Mark McVey and Christy Tarr McVey will provide the musical entertainment as the College Club of Ridgewood brings its annual holiday dinner to Seasons in Washington Township on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
The night will include cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and the traditional sing-along capping the evening.
The McVeys met while performing on Broadway as Captain and Mrs. Walker in the Who's rock opera "Tommy."
She was making her Broadway debut, while he was known as Marvin Hamlisch's "go-to guy" during national tours.
McVey also made a name along the Great White Way in a long-running role as Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables.” He was the first American to sing the role in London’s West End.
After marrying and moving to Ridgewood, they had two daughters -- who sometimes perform with them and have joined their tours.
