RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — A Ridgewood-based non-profit performing arts center will appear at the Ringwood Friends of Music event on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

Art of Motion is celebrating it s14th anniversary as a world-class cultural organization, just as the October event honors the centennial year of Alberto Ginastera.

AOM launched the year with its annual APAP Concert in the AOM Studio Theatre premiering new work by Artistic Directors Lynn Needle and Olivia Galgano, featuring the company, Art of Motion Dance Theatre and guest artist, Francis Lawrence from Dance Theatre of Harlem.

The students from the AOM Studio School performed their annual Spring Concert, La Boutique Fantasque at the Ciccone Theatre at Bergen Community College in Paramus.

“The goal for Art of Motion has always been to ignite creativity and celebrate collaboration,” Needle said, the founder. “Our goal in the next 5 years is to secure NEA grants and corporate sponsorships, as well as build a theatre.”

The conservatory's faculty has grown from five to 18 dance professionals who have performed with Ballet Russe, Pilobolus, Fosse, Joffrey, The Royal Ballet, Nikolais, the Juilliard School, and the Stuttgart Ballet.

The staff includes Broadway veterans, as well as vocal and theater coaches.
