RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Cartoon characters, furry animals and monsters no more than three feet tall flocked to Memorial Park in Van Neste Square for the Ridgewood Guild's "Spook-tac-ular" Halloween festival on Saturday.
Families and their little ones navigated through a hay-bale maze, painted pumpkins and collected candy from local vendors while a live band played pop music.
A horse-drawn hay-ride and costume parade were among the afternoon's highlights.
Youngsters darted in and out of shops on North Broad Street and E. Ridgewood Avenue collecting goodies.
Council officials were stationed at the park entrance to answer questions about the parking garage, which will be voted on by taxpayers on Tues., Nov. 3.
