RIDGEWOOD, N.J. — Ridgewood's Hea-Ran Kim takes the lead role in the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera performance of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor in the Bergen Performing Arts Center Sunday, Oct. 18.
This dark, romantic tale of family honor, betrayal and madness set in the Lammermuir Hills of Scotland is based on the novel “The Bride of Lammermoor” by Sir Walter Scott. A 'bel canto' style opera, it will be performed in Italian with English subtitles.
Kim has performed a range of roles including Gilda in Rigoletto, Elizabeth in The Secret Marriage, Violetta in La Traviata, Pamina in Die Zauberflote, and Mimi in La Boheme.
