RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Teenagers are needed to help make hats for the homeless and other needy folks at an outreach program organized through the Mad Hatters for Charity at the Ridgewood Library.
This teen program for loom knitting with the Mad Hatters takes place on Monday, Aug. 15 and Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. at the Ridgewood Public Library, 125 No. Maple Ave.
Participants should bring their own bulky yarn; looms and expertise will be provided.

Mad Hatters for Charity evolved from Emily Kubin of Morristown who started Emily's Hats for Hope in 2011. Emily's Hats for Hope has since made, collected and donated more than 21,000 hats for the homeless, working poor, and others in need. It does the same with scarves, afghans, and baby blankets.
