RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Come experience "Zen and the Art of Clean Cooking" at one of the 10 scheduled classes in Ridgewood over the next three months.

"Treat yourself to a delectable food experience at Valley (Medical Group)'s Center for Integrative Medicine while learning about the science behind clean eating with internationally trained chef Carrie Weiss," organizers note.

"Carrie's classes have elicited rave reviews. You will learn to prepare food that is delicious and inspiring."

The classes are on Tuesday and Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The current schedule is Jan. 24, 26 and 31; Feb. 2, 7, 9, 14 and 16; and March 7and 9.

Eating "clean" has become a lifestyle for some, and it's still new to many, as Daily Voice reported in September, discussing these classes.

"Eating with purpose, intention and learning how food affects our overall well-being will be covered by Carrie and held in our beautiful teaching kitchen," organizers added.

Two of the sessions with also feature special guests. On Feb. 16, Kristen Bradley, an integrative nutritionist, will teach the principles of the elimination diet, including who it's appropriate for.

March 9, Dr. Jodie Katz, an integrative physician, "will discuss the science behind the latest functional medicine nutrition recommendations and how to promote optimal health."

The cost is $95 per class and includes a multi-course meal. Each class is limited to 20. To register, call 201-389-0075 or email emangan@valleyhealth.com.

The Center for Integrative Medicine is located on the third floor of the West Wing of 1200 E. Ridgewood Ave.
