62-Foot Tree To Be Lighted At Ridgewood Holiday Event

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- A 62-foot Norway Spruce donated by Gary and Eileen Negrycz was in its stand awaiting decoration in time for the 30th annual village "Downtown for the Holidays" event this Friday.

5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Santa will be in the park for the "wee tots." Also: live entertainment by the clock and in the stores and restaurants along E. Ridgewood Avenue, featuring the RHS Marching Band, RHS Ridgewood Carolers, RHS Orchestra and Taekwondo All In.

5:30 - 9 p.m. Holiday Express Train for all the family up and down E. Ridgewood Avenue.

7 - 8 p.m. Live entertainment and tree lighting, featuring performances by Porch Light Productions, From the Top Studio, Art of Motion, Arthur Murray Dance Studio -- and, of course, Santa.

Downe's Tree Service trucked the tree from Dorchester Avenue to North Broad Street with a police escort and set into its stand mid-morning on Monday.
